Arcade Fire and the Valentine’s Day Massacre
One of the biggest, and in my opinion, best bands around, Arcade Fire apparently played the Grammy’s last night. I don’t take time to watch award shows, ever since a movie about a talking pig beat out Apollo 13. One word.Maybe two. Fake.Rigged. Okay, three words. The other one being:BS
But today is Valentines day and to you dear reader, I wish you a day filled with romance, of passion.Don’t focus on what has happened today in the past like, oh, Valentines Day Massacre, where seven men were gunned down in a brutal bloodletting by Al Capone and friends. Don’t recall when Charles II & Louis the German sign treaty .Or dwell on the fact that Emperor Charles V enters Ghent without resistance, executed rebels on February 14th without giving them one last moment to be with loved ones.
Although it is hard not to forget that on this very special day, Boxer Mike Tyson divorces actress Robin Givens and Khomeini orders Moslems to murder “Satanic Verses” novelist Rushdie in 1989. Big,big news.
So love the one your with. Enjoy the day. Put on a little Arcade Fire and dance a little.
