Christmas and the slipper departed

A pair of low-heeled slippers.

My slippers. Slippers are a gift every year for me and I wear them, past any usability until the following Christmas. I feltI needed to share that with the world. Isn’t the internet a wonderful tool?

As the days begin to tick, click away, I try to remember that in all of it, is Jesus is the reason for the season. of course, there is Festivus which I would wholly support if it were held, oh, sometime in February. It is as real and powerful of a holiday like, oh I don’t know..Kwanzaa.

Festivus really is for the rest of us. Although Jesus is the reason for the season. Hanukkah began this great time of year and Christmas and New Years finishes it wonderfully. But we need something in the blah part of the year. So how about Festivus in February?

“But Gary”, you say, “We have Valentines Day in February”. “Yes” I would reply but what about the lonely-hearted? What do they do other than reflect on the absence of love in their lives? Of course, we always have these other wonderful days in February to celebrate:

Come hang out with me in Feb – Chinese New Year is bigger then the Beatles out here. I actually get 3 days off instead of the lonely half day at Christmas.
