Summer, swimming and Nut-Nut
Swimming lessons. Two weeks of kids to the pool. Two weeks of Nut-Nut looking at the water and refusing to put her head under to blow bubbles. “Bad to tempt water god”, she says.
“There is only one God”, I say back,”and He wont care if you blow some bubbles under water.” She tries, but is frightened. The other kids look on, not sure if they too should refrain from putting their heads under the water. The swim coach looks at me in exasperation.
Nut-Nut has made quite a few friends since joining our little clan. My other children have accepted her and sibling rivalry is alive and well. They treat her no different than they treat each other.
Time for a coffee before I make another trip into the world of being a foster parent. It is a weird, but somehow, gratifying experience.
